West North West

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

With the winds blowing from the west north west from yesterday afternoon and through the night, conditions were good, apart from the slight decrease in swell size. The tides were a bit critical for power in the swell or lack there of – looks like winter is here & the steamers are being dusted off. […]

Whale Season!

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

I Spotted my first whale for the season! It was a perfect off-shore day – all day today, and there was swell to match it. A good 4ft on the sets and barreling – happy dayz! Good luck to Tommy, Henry & Kirsten at the State Surfing Titles. Yew – Go Byron Bay High! Hope […]

Fishy Barrel

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Small fishy barrels on the open beaches this afternoon. There was barely any wind again today, so the high tide shore breaks were dimpled perfection, just a little bit of a tight squeeze. Enjoy ~ Levi

Green Blur

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Low light and low wind, but good swell direction. The waves were about 3-4ft and reasonably clean for the whole day. Great day to be alive, no matter which way you look at it! Enjoy

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

It was a day for sun showers and rainbows, and a few little sheltered micro waves in the Bay. The swell is still pretty southerly & messy on the open beaches, with southerly winds. Enjoy – Levi

Wingin It

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Off shore conditions dominated most of the day, but there was still a lot of lump in the waves. There were two to three foot sets, warm water & lots of sunshine, but not quite the wave quality we’ve been getting used to. Hope you’ve been able to get into the water over the past […]

Orange Peelers

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Beautiful conditions this morning. The swell picked up from the south east yesterday evening and has continued to peel in. The south west winds and lack of crowds made for a nice session on the point this morning. Some banks are coming back and great to see a continuation of good south swell. Looks like […]

Red Rock

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Flat like pancake – but very picturesque! The waves in the Bay were small and clean with light south east winds. The open beaches had some swell but got wind affect in the afternoon. Enjoy – Levi

Waves & White Bait

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

High high tides and super low tides at the moment, but it looks good for some outside ones or shorey sections. Beautiful windless day again – the swell is still a reasonable size, but seems to be dropping slowly. Keep an eye out with for the white bait – plenty of fishermen on the beach […]

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Obscured by rock, but not by waves. Was a great mothers day for waves at the Pass. The wind was from the south east and made for some offshore conditions. The chill of winter is just sneaking up now, but the water is still a moderate 22 degrees. The East swell has got a bit […]

Strike Gold

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Well, back behind the lens again after about a week resting a broken wing.. So good to see late Autumn perfection throughout the week. It was four foot and glassy for most of the day – ending in some spectacular hues of Gold on Main Beach. Loving being out again. Enjoy – Levi
