Well its the end of 2009, and we’ve enjoyed some good waves in Byron & the surrounding area this year. Looking forward to what 2010 has to offer, hope you’ve had a great year too. Today the waves were a bit smaller, but still the swell is coming in from the east & the wind swung [...]

Ahhh, shimmering summer gold this morning when the sun started peaking through the clouds. What an amazing morning – always good when there’s a bit of swell to greet you at the start of the day. The swell has dropped a little from yesterday, but there were still some good 2-3ft waves to ride. Enjoy [...]

It was a great day for sleeping in this morning, but you probably had to get out early if you were looking for waves. The swell is still around 4-5ft, but its gotten a bit more messy with solid northerlies blowing through the night. The water is cool today cos of the north current, but [...]

Ahhh,it’s so good to be having some good sized waves again. There were strong northerlies blowing all day today, but the sheltered corners were holding it in pretty good shape. The swell is from the north east at about 5ft. It was hitting mostly on the outside banks, but a young Brazilian guy was showing [...]

Nice start to the day this morning, with about 2ft of clean swell coming in. There was a touch of south west winds and some hollow little ones on the mid-tide. Well, apart from nice clean lines, there was another guy in a red suit gettin around with his long board. He did alright out [...]

Without doubt this is one of those days ya just have to be at the beach. There was hardly a breath of wind til midday & the swell looks like its picked up slightly. The sets were coming in around 3ft and had some reasonable walls on them. Make sure you get in the water [...]

Not much wind this morning, and what wind did blow was from the south west & made for some nice shaped left handers. There were nice nice dark grey clouds early in the morning coming in from the south. Some good fun waves before the tide got too high! Enjoy – Levi [singlepic id=1088 w=720 h=580 [...]

Perfect day again – sun shining, weekend looming & surfing picking up! The swell is increasing from the north east – up to about 4ft on the sets and shaping up pretty nicely. Looks good for the weekend. Hope you get amongst it. Enjoy – Levi [singlepic id=1076 w=720 h=580 float=center]

There was a nice amount of north swell that’s continued to come in today. With the winds picking up again from the north, it was good to find a nice sheltered spot. It seems that a Surf Safari requires traveling up n down the coast and scoring nice waves – looks like the girls scored [...]

Wow, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, there was today! The weather was absolutely perfect. The swell has dropped a little bit from yesterday, but there were still some rideable 2ft waves. There were a group of girls on a surfing safari who were enjoying the waves and surfing really well. It’s [...]
Tuesday, December 15th, 2009
It was an unusual day with a bit of rain and north east winds in the morning & then sunshine and almost no wind around lunch time. The swell has started to swing more from the east at around 3ft today, which has meant a little more wave action on some of the outside banks. [...]
Monday, December 14th, 2009
It was an unusually grey day today after lots of sun, fortunately there was still some swell and not too much wind in the morning. Plenty of banks to deal with the nice north east swell & really good water temp. Great afternoon session as the tide hit right and some of the lads got [...]

Ahhh, so good to have waves again. The swell that was predicted for about Tuesday seems to have arrived early, but i didn’t hear anyone complaining. It was about 3-4ft on the open beaches this morning and doubling up on some of the shorey banks this afternoon. No much wind for most of the day, [...]
Friday, December 11th, 2009
Small waves again today. The wind was up early, so the only sheltered spots were the northern corners, but if you were up with the sun you could have found some clean, surfable waves at some other spots. Am looking forward to the predicted rise in the swell. Hope you were able to dip in [...]
Thursday, December 10th, 2009
What a great sunrise! The wind died off over night and made for a misty sunrise. It also helped to smooth out the lumpy north swell. There were some great little waves hitting a shorey bank at this spot. Plenty of fun little waves, some barrels for whoever was lucky enough to squeeze inside. Enjoy [...]
Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
What a spectacular day! Not much to surf today, but there were a few little bumps in the corner that seemed to be rideable in the morning and again this afternoon. The wind has been blowing from the NE solidly all day. There’s only about 1-2ft of North swell being blown in at the moment. [...]
Sunday, December 6th, 2009
What a stinker of a day – it was a good thing to find some shelter from the baking heat of the day. The water was beautifully refreshing and there were a few reasonable waves, on the right tides. At this sheltered northern corner there were some 3ft waves on the set and even a [...]
Friday, December 4th, 2009
With the winds stopping over night and the swell still coming in from the south east at about 3ft, there were some nice peaks coming in on the open beaches this morning. You needed to be up early, cos the winds swung from northwest to north east by about 10am. Hope you got to enjoy [...]

Whenever you feel the winds blowing from the south and you know there’s some swell, you can’t help but think about surfing the sheltered waves in The Bay. So glad to have a spot like this! KP & his brother Simon were out amongst others, having a great time in some moderately hollow waves. The [...]
