New Perspectives!

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

So here we are, back to Byron Bay! The swell seems to have disappeared as quickly as it arrived. I thought i’d entertain you with some photo’s of the waves on the last day of the journey back to Byron – Newcastle Harbor & the Wedge on the Ocean side of the wall. Was pretty […]

Traveling up the coast from Ulladulla this morning we found some epic waves at a place called Redsands. I got the feeling there was gonna be some serious wave action when I saw some of the Bra Boys arriving. Have a look at the shape of some of these gems! Looks like its gonna be […]

South Coast Glory

Monday, April 20th, 2009

It might have been howling southerly winds today, but believe me there’s a lot of headlands between the deep south (Phillip Island) and south coast NSW that give ya some shelter.. I’m on explore mode & have been bumping into a little bit of bliss around a lot of the corners. Went out for a […]

Mind Blowing Bells

Friday, April 17th, 2009

What an Epic day at Bells Beach for the finals of the Rip Curl Pro!! Perfect weather, perfect surf conditions & outstanding surfing – was sooo good to watch the local hero Adam Robertson go right through to the finals – It was certainly a victory for him, even coming in 2nd to Joel Parkinson. […]

Bells Beach Bliss

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Its 2am & I can’t sleep – Got some kinda hay-fever or maybe or perhaps I’m just not used to the cold, either way, the surf down here in Vicco is pumping! Almost all day the waves at Bells have been sick – offshore & about 5-6 Ft. The Contest got moved to Winki for […]

Broken Head Breaking

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Good morning! What a great start to the day – Broken Head was super clean with light south-west winds & a more even swell pushing right in to the corner. Only a handful of guys were out there this morning, one guy got nicely slotted even on the full high tide.

Daylight saving Dawn Sessions

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Great morning this morning, with a golden glow bursting through the clouds and lighting up the bay. The swell seems to be hanging around. Even though the tide was super high this morning, the winds were off-shore and there were plenty of nice waves in The Bay.

Brown n Foamy

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

After a couple weeks of super clear water & great waves in  The Bay, the ocean has turned into a soupy brown foam bath. The swell is still a good size, but the strong south easterlies and excessive rain has pushed out a lot of dirty water from in the rivers. Despite the water quality, […]

Barrels in The Bay

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

What a beautiful day for big open barrels in The Bay. Torren Martin was seen hangin around the corner of few at The Wreck. The Napster got seriously slotted in an Indo-esk pit that ran from the first groyne to the other end of the car park! Sick one, mate! There were that many barrels […]

The Wreck – Byron Bay

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

This afternoon there were some 3-4ft waves breaking in the Bay, the pick of it was probably at the wreck. It was great to get into the water again today & enjoy the setting sun as it lit up some empty barrels. Looks like that long anticipated 30 year swell still hasn’t hit, but i […]
